ATC(H) (VUSBX14)

ATC(H) (VUSBX14) ATC(H) (VUSBX14)
includes one Armored Troop Carrier boat, with options for the ATC(H) and ATC(H) Aid Boat.

The ATC boats converted from LCM-6 landing craft developed in the 1950s for ship-to-ship and ship-to-shore use. The converted LCM designs added 0.25 inch armor plating in many areas to protect the superstructure from critical damage caused by rockets.

Brown Water Navy
The waterways of the Mekong Delta are busy with sampans, merchants, villages, and farming communities. They are the life blood of South Vietnam, through which over half of the entire country’s rice flows. It is remote with few roads accessing the interior’s rice fields and jungles. The Viet Cong have launched their liberation movement from within this formidable fortress.

However, the US Army and Navy have come together to create the Mobile Riverine Force, a joint operation of infantry and assault boats. They are reinforced with helicopter gunships, devastating Skyraider aircraft and more. This new force is ready to take the fight upriver.

ATC(H) (VUSBX14)

The upgraded armored ATC made up about half of the river craft deployed by the United States during the Vietnam War, in effect making the ATC the "workhorse" of the river war. Some ATCs had helicopter decks added and became ATC(H).

ATC Passengers
The ATC was designed to not only deliver infantry onto the river bank, but also to support them with firepower.

ATC and ATC(H) boats are Tank teams. However, each boat can carry up to 15 Infantry and Man-packed Gun teams as Passengers as if it was a Transport team.

If the ATC and ATC(H) boats are Pinned Down, their Passenger teams are also Pinned Down.

Helipad
The ATC(H)’s helipad allows helicopter support to resupply the troops and evacuate the wounded during battle.

The flight deck of an ATC(H) counts as an Landing Zone Objective that can hold up to one helicopter team.

A team that is in contact with an ATC(H) is also in contact with a Medevac Slick landed on that ATC(H)’s helipad.

Aid Boat
The aid boat was essentially a floating hospital. It carried a large medical staff and even had a surgeon on board. All aid boats were equipped with a helipad for dustoff operations to evacuate the most critically wounded. The aid boat also provided the transportation for the battalion scouts.

Medic teams may use their Saving the Wounded rule while mounted in an ATC(H) Aid Boat.

ATC Tent plug-in Special Order (VSO112)
The ATC(H) includes the helipad bow piece, giving you the versatility to field it as a transport in either a Combat Platoon or a Weapons Platoon (as an Aid Boat) role.

If you want to field a 'rag-top' ATC, you can replace the helipad piece with the  ATC Tent special order piece (VSO112) available here from the web store...

Assembling the ATC(H) (VUSBX14)

Follow this guide to correctly assemble your ATC(H). For metal and resin models like this one, we recommend you use cyanoacrylate 'Super Glue'.

GF9 Super Glue is available in the online store...

Contact the customer service team at [email protected] if you have any issues with any of the components.

Step 3. Glue the guns into their turrets. You have the option of replacing one of your Mk 16 20mm guns with a Mk 19 40mm Grenade MG, so four turrets are provided.
